CPSC 100: Principles of Computer Science

Weekly Reading Guide

Spring 1997

COMPUTER SCIENCE 100 is a course based on the textbook The Most Complex Machine. In order to do well in this course, you should (among other things) do the assigned readings from the text. This includes reading end-of-chapter exercises and the answers to those exercises that are found in the appendix at the end of the text. However, there is a lot of material in the text, and you don't have to pay equal attention to all the concepts that are covered. Each week, I will assign some reading from the text, and I will give you a list of the most important terms from the reading. I will list the terms on the board in class, and I will post the same list on this page. I will also post a short summary of the weekly reading. I will not always cover all the concepts in lecture, but you are responsible for knowing them on the basis of the reading. If you have any questions, you should raise them in class or bring them to my office hours.
