Teaching

This fall I am teaching two sections of Calculus II and their accompanying laboratories.  I taught CS322 Introduction to Scientific Computing in the summers of 2003 and 2005. I have been a TA, grader and substitute lecturer for other scientific computing or computing courses; see the links to course websites in my Statement of Teaching Philosophy and Experiences.

Research

I am interested in numerical analysis, scientific computing, mathematical modeling of physiological, engineering and political systems, nonlinear dynamics and ordinary and partial differential equations. In particular, I apply mathematical analysis when possible and numerical experimentation and simulation when necessary, illustrative or illuminating to continuous problems of science, engineering, physiology and the social sciences.
