Teaching
This fall I am teaching two sections of Calculus II and their accompanying laboratories. I taught CS322 Introduction to Scientific Computing in the summers of 2003 and 2005. I have been a TA, grader and substitute lecturer for other scientific computing or computing courses; see the links to course websites in my Statement of Teaching Philosophy and Experiences.Research
I am interested in numerical analysis, scientific computing, mathematical modeling of physiological, engineering and political systems, nonlinear dynamics and ordinary and partial differential equations. In particular, I apply mathematical analysis when possible and numerical experimentation and simulation when necessary, illustrative or illuminating to continuous problems of science, engineering, physiology and the social sciences.To learn more about me, see my personal web page.
