Math 110-02, Fall 2008, Assignment 12:
Outline of Final Project

This is assignment is due in class on Friday, December 5.

Your final project for this course is due at the final exam, at 8:30 AM on Thursday, December 18. (The final exam itself will be a one-hour test, similar to the others that you have taken in this course.) However, to make sure that you do not put off all work on the project until the last minute, your should turn in an outline of your project on Friday, December 5. A description of the final project was handed out earlier in the term; a copy can be found at http://math.hws.edu/eck/math110/final_project.html. If you have any doubt about what you want to do, I encourage you to come into my office to talk about your plans before then, or to discuss them with me by email.

On December 5, you should turn in one of the following:

• A description of your plans for a "hands-on" project, with enough detail to make it clear that you will in fact be able to do the project.
• An outline of a five-to-seven page paper that you will write, along with a list of at least three sources that you will use in the bibliography.
• A complete draft of a five-to-seven page paper. (You can rewrite the paper after the draft is returned.)

This assignment will be graded and will count for 10 homework points. If you turn in something reasonable, you can expect to get full credit.
